This is a frequently asked question and one to which there’s often not a clear answer, and yet the total costs, or Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), play a central role in the decision to buy or lease a car. After all, vehicle costs are among the largest household expenses after housing (1).
The discussions surrounding power shortages in Switzerland have never been as topical or as big as they were last winter. Where did this come from and does the increasing number of electric cars on our roads make the danger even greater for the next few years? I would like to explain why electric cars do not currently present a risk to the power grid and how they can even contribute to a more stable grid in the future.
